We are a long established society, catering for all levels of interest in this fascinating craft.
Middlesex Bonsai Society was formed in 1978 by John Street with 12 members, at the time it was one of 15 societies in the country .The club has had various meeting venues through the years starting at the Windmill Hall in Ruislip then moving to Ladybanks School and finally to South Harrow Methodist Church in Walton Avenue.
The Society held the first annual show at the Orangery in Holland Park, we have held shows in the Windmill Hall and now hold our shows at The Old Barn , Bury Street, Ruislip.
Members of the club have visited Japan, the traditional home of Bonsai, although the art of bonsai originated in China. We have also had visits to Holland Belgium Switzerland and Germany.
At the present time we have approx 40 members and meet from 7.30 – 10.00 on the 3 rd Tuesday of each month except August when we usually hold a garden party at a members home.
At our normal monthly meetings we have guest speakers, in-house workshops to assist members to develop their trees .Several of the guest speakers have sales tables when there is the chance to purchase trees and bonsai goods.
